Located in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia, this limestone hill is a really popular tourist destination that you should visit when you are in Malaysia. You will see how beautiful the 42,7m gold painted Murugan statue, standing in front of the entrance. Built in 1891,
Batu Caves is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India. An iconic sacred place, a gem in Selangor.
There were so many birds in front of the gate. Since this destination is really popular among tourists, no wonder you will see (too) many tourists here. To see the actual caves, you have to take 272 concrete steps to get there. On your way up, you will see many Macaques (long tailed monkey). They were really cute. Just like any other caves, spiders and bats were also easily found around this area. Another think that I really like are all the colorful reliefs on the entrance gate. So beautiful.
HOW TO GET THERE
Batu Caves is located 13km from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. This destination can be easily reached by commuter train. You can take the train from commuter station in Kuala Lumpur.
