HALF DAY IN KARYA ISLAND
First of all, sorry for 'not so good' quality of photos but I tried my best. I took everything you see here with my phone camera, because I wasn't allowed to bring any professional camera during the program.
Last Sunday, I went to Pulau Karya. Karya is an island in the Thousand Islands archipelago. The Thousand Islands are a chain of islands that consist of 100+ small islands located in the bay of Jakarta. Karya Island is one of them. I visited the island because I was joining an environmental activist program at my univ, called "Action with Mangrove II". Long story short, this program engage us as young generation to care about natural environment around us.
My day started poorly. I woke up REALLY LATE. We were supposed to gather at my campus around 4am, BUT... I woke up at 4.39! Even tho I have set the alarm, it's not working for me. Do you have the same problem? Hahah...like you set your alarm with loudest speaker but still, you don't wake up. When I checked my phone, there were so many missed calls from my friend to wake me up, but since I turned off my phone when I sleep, sooo yea...
Panic attack!!! I wash up quickly and then everyone around the house was busy to help me find my things, like my tumbler, bags, etc. Fortunately, everything went well after that, the bus that takes me didn't leave me even though I was late, really late.
This was the view after 3,5 hours in the bus (1 hour) and ferry (2,5 hours). Beautiful! Karya Island is not for surfer, but if you love diving, maybe you can check this island. This island was more quiet compared to other popular destination at Thousand Islands, such as Pramuka Island or Bidadari Island. Not as beautiful as those popular islands, but still worth a visit.
Don't forget to wear your sunblock, I got sunburned because I didn't put any sunblock. :(
Mangroves mangroves mangroves...I learned how to plant mangroves.
Anyway, do you realize that I got a new blog layout??? YEAY!.
Do you like it?
